International Centre for Development Oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA) strengthens innovative capacity by providing training and coaching to professionals and to inter-organisational and multidisciplinary teams of staff from education, research and development organisations.
ICRA is an international centre established by European members of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) to develop leadership in facilitating knowledge-based rural and agricultural development.
International Centre for Development Oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA) specializes in strengthening the linkages between teaching, research and outreach, and between higher education, relevant rural communities and other targeted development stakeholders more generally. These activities engage individual staff members (lecturers, managers), the organisation, and the targeted stakeholders. They include curriculum development, development and supervision of internships, integration of disciplinary research with action-research, the establishment of business incubators, and networking with outside stakeholders.
International Centre for Development Oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA) offers specialized training programs that follow a short course module build up. ICRA provides training and coaching in the following areas:
- Agricultural Research for Development
- Interactive learning
- Agribusiness coaching
- Higher Education outreach and action research
ICRA believes in the power of connected individuals and actively support learning networks and partnerships to foster new individual, organisational and inter-organisational forms of collaboration which help to address complex development challenges. By working on interactive learning in innovation clusters, we learn how to construct institutional arrangements that stimulate knowledge sharing and coordinated action.
ICRA offers various training programs, including tailor-made programs, coaching in multi-actor joint learning and action and facilitation of workshops and reflection sessions.
