Program description

Water Resources Management focuses on ways in which water availability and use are matched, and seeks to develop alternative land use and water allocation policies, including legal and institutional arrangements from the local watershed to the basin scale and beyond.

This program is designed for engineers and managers responsible for planning, developing and implementing water resources projects and programs. Experience has shown that students need to have an understanding of quantitative methods, such as statistical analysis, in order to successfully complete this course.

Principles of Integrated Water Resources Management; Water Resources System; Water Systems Modelling; Water and Environmental Law; Watershed and River Basin Management; Water Resources Planning; Water Economics; Water Governance; MSc Research and Thesis Writing.

Objectives
The Water Resources Management program studies the way in which water availability and use can be matched. It focuses on developing alternative land use and water allocation models and policies as well as designing legal and institutional arrangements for local watersheds, river basins and international rivers.
