Program description

This specialization aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of urban infrastructure finance within the context of public finance and public private partnerships. The module focuses on capital finance and expenditure management of complex urban infrastructure programs.

The MSc in Urban Management and Development: FInancing Urban Infrastructure combines lectures, seminars, group work, field visits and presentations. Participants will conduct research and write their thesis – non-compulsory in their home country - within the 'Managing Urban Governance' specialization.

At the end of the course participants will be able to discuss, analyze and assess aspects of local government reform essential to good urban governance.

The Financing Urban Infrastructure specialization is part of the the MSc Urban Management and Development program. Besides this specialization IHS offers a range of other related courses such as the Housing Development Strategies course.
