Program description

The Master's in Law and Economics provides you with an understanding of the complex issues that arise from economic laws and policies made by local and international organisations and governments.

The Master's in Law and Economics provides you with a career-building LLM degree focused on the interaction between law and economics. Topics are studied from both a legal and economic perspective.

Are you fascinated by understanding the economic logic – and the economic consequences – of national, European and international rules and regulations? The LLM in Law and Economics prepares you to solve the complex issues that arise at the intersection of law and economics. This expertise offers you many exciting career opportunities, ranging from corporate attorney to governmental consultant.

The interactive teaching methods and international character of this one-year programme creates a dynamic learning environment. Acclaimed lecturers from the faculty of Law, Economics and Governance will challenge you to bring your best to this LLM. Courses cover the full range of interaction between law and economics, including competition, regulation, microeconomics and international trade.

'The LLM in Law and Economics builds a bridge between two separate but related subjects, teaching you to analyse the law from an economic perspective and address economics from a legal perspective. It is the perfect opportunity to develop into an all-round lawyer with a focus on economics, regulation and supervision.' – Margot Aelen, alumna.
