Program description

Businesses around the world increasingly communicate in English, both internally and to outside audiences. How can such communication on the workfloor and by those in leading be made effective?

If you choose to study International Business Communication in Nijmegen you will be able to combine learning academic research techniques with practical business competencies. We are looking for thinkers and doers with an international orentation. That is unique in the Netherlands and we are one of very few programmes in Europe to focus sharply on the practical, analytical, cultural and linguistic aspects of business. In particular, we place strong emphasis on the influence of national and organisational culture on companies and institutions that operate across borders.

Understanding the factors that influence the succes of international and intercultural communication is crucial, especially where employees are culturally and linguistically divers and in organisations whose primary target audiences are culturally and linguistically diverse. Effective communication is essential. This programme gives you the theoretical knowledge and prctical insights you need to analyse and critically evaluate the succes of professional communication in general, and IBC in particular, in a multinational, multicultural and multilingual context.
