Program description

Do you see the ageing population as a challenge? The European Master's in Gerontology enables participants to gain a deeper knowledge of the ageing process and its societal implications.

The European Master's in Gerontology (EuMaG) combines an interdisciplinary approach, giving students the opportunity to study the psychological, social and health-related domains of gerontology. EuMaG's core modules each focus on a main discipline within gerontology, such as Psycho-Gerontology, Social Gerontology, Health Gerontology, Demography and the Biology of Ageing. EuMaG has been developed by a network of more than 20 European universities. The curriculum is multidisciplinary, with a strong emphasis on international comparison and the current European debates on policy and care for the elderly. The flexible schedule is especially geared towards professionals working in the field of healthcare, public health and social welfare. Graduates will be equipped with a flexible range of knowledge and skills relevant to a number of health-related occupations in government, business, the non-profit sector, education and research. Aged-care management and administration, healthcare and social planning, community development, market research, health policy and health promotion are all areas of potential employment.
