Program description

The Environmental Technology and Engineering program deals with developing environmental technologies, with a strong focus on multidisciplinary and problem-based technology development.

Growing awareness of the human impact on the environment has convinced most governments of the need to prevent air, water and soil pollution. Increasingly, remediation of contaminated sites is becoming a priority target. Consequently, there is a strong and ever increasing demand for specialists trained in pollution prevention and remediation.

Environmental Technology and Engineering is a Joint Erasmus Mundus program that addresses these needs by educating a new generation of environmental scientist and engineers that can provide adequate and state-of-the-art environmental technology and engineering solutions to tackle complex, multidisciplinary environmental issues.

Subjects
The first semester, focuses on general background knowledge in the domain of environmental technology. In the second semester advanced and specialised environmental technology courses are taught. Between the first and the second year, a summer school will be held. In the third semester, specialised environmental technology courses are taught. The fourth semester is dedicated to thesis research.

Objectives
Graduates will have knowledge of the severity of environmental pollution and be able to develop, design and apply technologies for the prevention of it. They must be able to fulfil executive functions in international institutions and companies that deal with both application and development of pollution prevention, remediation and engineering techniques or regulatory decision-making
