Program description
The bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering centres on the design, manufacture and maintenance of products, equipment, machines and installations and at the control of processes. You learn to build tools that take over or facilitate the work of people, varying from CD-players and cars to devices for amusement parks. In terms of the control of processes you can think about climate control in residences and offices and the production of clean drinking water. Also processes that run in the engine of a car or in the pump of a dredger are part of this area. So Mechanical Engineering is a broad discipline. You learn to design products and which production means are required to manufacture them. You also learn to control processes and to handle installations and machines that are required for this. In this context you pay ample attention to the use of the computer. You do not only use the computer to perform calculations but also to design products, automate the production and control the production process.
