Program description

International Economics & Business (IE&B) is an internationally-oriented and English-taught program for students who wish to acquire a broad foundation while studying for a Bachelor degree.

To this end, IE&B offers a curriculum that integrates several fields of interest. While the emphasis is on (international) economics, a great deal of attention is also paid to business economics (especially finance & accounting) and to a lesser extent to business administration. IE&B provides a balanced mix of disciplines, from which you can make a sound choice for your field of specialization.

In the International Economics and Business programme you will become knowledgeable about economic issues and you will learn how to analyze, explain, and solve these issues. Within this context you will make use of (international) economic theories, but also of closely related business approaches taken from, for instance, finance or accounting. You will also study international organizations' policies and analyze activities of multinationals. (Taught in English).

To gain international experience, you will study abroad for six months during the third year of your study. You will take the courses of your choice within the field you wish to specialize in at a partner university of your choice.
