Program description

If you study literary and cultural studies, you will be introduced to different art forms: visual arts, film, theatre, music, literature and digital media. (Tought in Dutch)

You will be familiar with different forms of art and with art from various historical periods. Much attention is paid to the connections and interrelatedness between the different arts. You will know what terms such as 'modernism' and 'Renaissance' mean for very diverse art forms. This programme introduces you to various art forms: literature, visual art, film, music, theatre and digital media. Upon completion of the programme, you will be an all-round art expert. You will be familiar with different forms of art and with art from various historical periods. Much attention is paid to the connections and interrelatedness between the different arts. You will know what terms such as 'modernism' and 'Renaissance' mean for very diverse art forms. You will also make cross-references that often generate a deeper understanding than the study of a single art form or artistic trend. Moreover, you will learn to analyse various art forms and will be introduced to topical themes such as digital culture, art policy and art in the media. After the three-year Bachelor's programme, you will transfer to the one-year Master's programme in General Cultural Studies. (Tought in Dutch)
