Program description

Fine Art students are expected expected to develop a feeling for tradition and the courage to experiment.

The bachelor Fine Art degree programme is not divided into separate disciplines. You will work according to your personal artistic plan that you will detail and organise together with your tutors. Idea Development is the pivotal axis of your course. You will also devote a large amount of attention to new media. In the StadsLab, you will concentrate on practical work and carry out actual projects related to the utilisation of outdoor space in the Rotterdam metropolitan area. In the CrossLab media projects and in the special project weeks, you will work in interdisciplinary teams. As mentioned before, you will be expected to develop a feeling for tradition and the courage to experiment. To gain international experience, you can participate in the exchange programme and study at partner institutions, for example, in Berlin, Marseille or Vancouver. After completing your bachelor's, you can apply for the master Fine Art course at the Piet Zwart Institute.
